After skimming the main and camshaft bearing journals are then align bored using a purpose built machine. Centreing and clamping is done by means of automatic hydraulic controls. The crankcase is centred using the rear main oil seal and pulley bore as reference points. After skimming and align boring using these techniques an oversize pulley (which is supplied) must be used.
