Manufacturing
All engines are supplied on an exchange basis. Once the exchange engine is received, it is completely stripped and the parts are thoroughly cleaned. The cleaning processes used include blasting with a peach pip / glass mixture, brushing, chemical cleaning and high-pressure washing.
A number of critical components will always be discarded and replaced with 100% new components including pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets, con-rod bolts, oil seal, valves and guides. All remaining original components are then checked and where they do not meet O.E. specification they are scrapped and replaced. Where they meet specification they are machined to tolerances specified by the O.E. suppliers with cutting edge machinery.
All engines are individually numbered and full traceability records are kept for each unit throughout the assembly and testing process. If a problem were to later occur, details of the parts used, bench test results and the technicians responsible are available for quality control purposes.
Testing
This aspect is vital to ensuring peace of mind for our customers. All of our engines are tested extensively so that upon arrival for installation they are in sound running order. With a few exceptions all engine types are hot tested. Those that are not hot tested are spin tested to check for oil pressure, oil leaks and relative compression etc. Regular random quality audits are also carried out on individual parts and completed units. This includes a complete strip down and inspection of 2% of completed units to ensure conformity to the stringent quality standards set by the OEMs.
After testing and final inspection engines are packed in a specially made wooden crate to ensure safe delivery. Gaskets required to complete the installation are included with all engines.
